Greater NorthWest Chicago Development Corp is a 501()(3) nonprofit organization and a delegate agency of the City of Chicago’s Department of Housing
and Community Development. For
almost 35 years it has carried out its mission of industrial retention within a service area now spanning three major industrial corridors—NW Industrial,
Grand-Armitage and Pulaski—and
Tax Increment Financing districts.
Through visits, phone calls and email blasts GNCDC keep industrial company owners and decision-makers aware
of grants, loans, tax incentives
and rebate programs to defray
the cost of doing business. The
agency also acts as a referral source
for many nonprofit or private business services—from export assistance
to reliable employees—to help
businesses grow and create jobs.
Greater Northwest Chicago listens to what businesses have to say, and
works at developing policies and
programs to make it easier to do
business and grow in Chicago.
Its funding comes from the City of
Chicago, the State of Illinois,
philanthtropic organizations and membership dues. Approximately
one third of its operating costs come
from local industrial companies and financial institutions.
