Finance Programs
The Small Business Development Center at GNCDC provides valuable assistance to start up and existing businesses in your efforts to secure financing to grow your business. If you are a sole proprietor who needs $2,000 for a couple pieces of equipment or a manufacturer who needs $2,000,000 for a building purchase, we can tap into resources that you might not be aware of to assist you in your efforts.
Working with entities such as the State of Illinois Department of Commerce, City of Chicago, the banking industry and non-profit partners has allowed us to develop a comprehensive package of resources to address your financing needs. Whether you have limited or no financing, we can find the proper lending and equity sources to fill those needs.
The SBDC at GNCDC knows the programs and can guide you and your bank through the process. We can package your loan and take the paperwork and red tape out of your hands. We have packaged over $40 million in financing since 1980 and can do so for you.
Why you might need our services:
- Starting a small business - You need a little cash for equipment, supplies and/or working capital. Most larger banks won't work with businesses who need less than $25,000 because those projects are not "worth" their time. We work with places such as ACCION Chicago and Innovative Bank to help clients who have those needs.
- Need working capital - Your business is "taking off" and you have orders coming in but not the financing yet to purchase the raw material and pay your workers in order to process that work. You need a quick line of credit or loan to help with those needs. We can quickly find a resource for you.
- Denied credit - You've been in business for several years but your bank won't extend the additional credit necessary to purchase that piece of machinery to create a new line of business or you are a business start up and you've been accepted for a loan but the bank requires you have 20% down payment in order to qualify and you only have 10%. We can help you find that additional 10% from the various entities that provide a participation loan.
